We believe that children learn best through interacting with their environment, people, and by participating hand-on. We offer many opportunities to explore, manipulate, discover, observe, reflect, experiment, and question, so that children can create their own conclusions and knowledge.

Pre-Kindergarten students are immersed in a myriad of experiences that emphasize risk taking, experimentation and exploration.  Much of the work is bulky and three dimensional but a portfolio and writing journal is kept for each student to provide a chronological sampling of their two dimensional work and writing. 

By the temptation of a challenge, practicing what they learn through repetition, and developing new skills, children develop competence. They are encouraged to feel the full range of emotions, so they understand and respect themselves and others, and develop self-confidence and resilience.

Students enjoy the class mascot, Puddles who gets to go home with the children.  Puddles has his own carrier and a journal.  Students are encouraged to draw or write about their experience with puddles.

Field trips have included, Lutherlyn Nature Center, Fire Truck Visits, Mars Post Office, MyGym, Museums, etc.
